ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT & pERFORMANCE TRAINING 

WHAT DOES TRAINING AT GAME7 LOOK LIKE?

   Athletes train to produce force with varying volumes, movements, loads, angles, and speeds to enhance athletic performance. Conditioning programs prepare the body's energy systems for optimal health and performance. 

Athletes train acceleration to enhance the short bursts needed in team sports and deceleration to improve the ability to change direction and minimize injuries.  Both skills are applied to linear, lateral, and angular speed training to prepare for the multi-directional demands of sports.

Athletes train to correct muscle imbalances, increase joint range of motion, decrease muscle soreness, relieve joint stress, and maintain the normal functional length of all muscles.

Athletes train to exert maximal force in minimal time and decelerate properly to absorb forces in all planes of movement and then progress to more dynamic and reactive training.

Game7 Training provides the atmosphere, coaching and programming to meet young athletes where they are in their developmental process.  Athletes are guided through progressive sessions where they are exposed to a variety of modes of training to support the development of a well-rounded athlete.  (photos of training equipment and space)

Prep Training (ages 14+): 60-minute classes

The Prep stage of developmental training is where more concentrated application takes place to align with a higher level of physical & mental maturity.  Whether the goal is increasing performance in sports or general fitness this stage of training is based on fundamental training habits so that each athlete can reach their individual goals. 

**Beginning in March, Prep classes will be offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays; 4:15-5:15 on Mondays and Thursdays, 5:00-6:00  on Wednesdays​**

Rookie Training (ages 10-13): 60-minute classes 

Similar to our Foundations athletes, Rookies develop their "athletic intelligence" through programming that allows them to experience simple & complex motor skills through explorative play.  In addition, Rookies transition to more structured programming, including progressive resistance training, that allows them to bridge the gap between the Foundations & Prep programs.  This is a critical stage of development as young athletes experience many changes to their body, mind, & social interactions.  75% of young athletes drop out of youth sports by age 13.  Our Rookie program teaches them how to train while encouraging a fun environment & love for the sports they play.

**Beginning in March, Rookie classes will be offered from 3:45-4:45 Tuesday-Thursday**

Foundations Training (ages 7-9): 45-minute classes

This stage of training introduces athletes to a wide spectrum of movements and exercise stimuli that encourages the natural development of body awareness and coordination.  Young athletes learn the physical skills of exercise through experimental and discovery-based means, often using gameplay as an avenue to reinforce foundational skills.

**Beginning in March, Foundations classes will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays; from 3:45-4:30 on Mondays & 4:15-5:00 on Wednesdays
